Even though Tropical Storm Hermine will be going ashore hundreds of miles south of Galveston, the Island is still feeling the effects, and high tide means a dangerous tide for swimmers.Tropical Storm Hermine , about 100 miles to the south-southeast of Brownsville Texas continues to gather steam this evening with winds strengthening to 60mph. Hermine will make landfall tonight in Northern Mexico and will likely bring heavy rains and possibly some severe weather to South Texas and along the lower and mid-Texas Coast through Tuesday.
